My Professional Story
My career started in one of Orange Counties’
oldest technology firms, Odetics Inc. At Odetics I was responsible for managing,
deploying, and maintaining a multi-platform (Windows, Unix, Novell) network which
spanned multiple countries and was depended on by 550 of Odetics Employees.
After Odetics I jumped into the .com revolution by joining go2 as a Database Developer.
At go2 I accelerated in 2 years into a full fledge Senior Database Engineer. In
those two years, My team and I were in charge of the data services that were vital
in the wireless local search portal that go2 was creating. This included designing
and redesigning a geospatial database schema, local business search logic, as well
as numerous tools for other groups within go2 to manipulate data. I was also in
charge of the day to day database management of production, QA, and development
environments.
As the .com bubble began to burst I set out on a venture with two partners and I
directed the technology for a new company Webmerge Inc. At Webmerge I was not only
in charge of technology, I also managed customer relationships, and developers.
My team developed a wide variety of software projects ranging from online surfboard
designers for a local surfboard manufacturer to full blown knowledge management
portals for large financial firms. Some projects were built from the ground up,
while other were built on Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint services and
Commerce Server.
During My time at Webmerge, go2 was rebuilding itself as the venture capital markets
rebounded; I decided to return to go2 for a number of reasons. At go2 my role ranged
from day to day database operations to developing wireless advertising solutions
for an emerging mobile advertising market.
I am currently serving as a Premier Field Engineer for Microsoft Corporation. At
Microsoft I support Microsoft’s largest clients by traveling to their site and solving
business critical issues involving their SQL Server database platform. I also perform
proactive services such as teaching workshops to customers or doing health checks
on their SQL Server database platform.
I am a self-motivated individual who seeks new technology and innovation and enjoys
working in both team and isolated environments.
